Voici les nouvelles que nous avons reçues bien comme un rapport de visite de la part de notre contact à Chethana:

"

- La classe d'enfants handicapés construite grâce à l'aide des CLT fonctionne très bien. Nous l'équipons en matériel chaque année. j'y suis allé en novembre.

- Le suivi des enfants handicapés parrainés est effectué par Kasun, le médecin qui nous aide avec sa maman et 2 amies. Je vais les voir chaque année.

- Nous avons le projet de construire une autre salle de classe dans une école pour enfants handicapés dans le Sud du Sri Lanka. Le projet avance bien. La construction devrait commencer cette année.

MAHANAMA - Classe enfants handicapés - rapport de visite

Nous sommes partis ce matin de très bonne heure (5h) pour rejoindre Anudhapura et les 2 écoles que nous devions visiter.  5 à 6 h de route nous attendaient. Etaient présents Ganga, Lydia, Lala, Prasanna et moi-même. Kasun n’a pas pu se libérer, pris par sa formation Management hôpital.
Départ et trajet sous la pluie ! Nous sommes arrivés vers 11h. En cette période les enfants sont en vacances scolaires, car tous les élèves passent des examens pour accéder au grade supérieur. Cependant les élèves, leur maman, l’enseignante spécialisée, la directrice (le directeur précédent est allé dans une autre école), ainsi que son adjointe nous ont accueillis avec 
leurs beaux sourires. 
Ils ne sont que 6 élèves dans la classe. D’après ce que j’ai compris, 2 élèves ont intégré le cycle normal.
L’enseignante a fait un discours et a affirmé que grâce à cette belle classe les enfants sont heureux de venir travailler. Cette clase serait reconnue comme la meilleure dans le district. Les enfants sont très bien intégrés dans l’école. Il n’y a pas de discrimination. 
La classe est en très bon état. L’ambiance est chaleureuse. C’est une belle réussite!

Here is the news we received, as well as a visit report from our contact at Chethana:

“

• The classroom for children with disabilities built with the help of the CLT is functioning very well. We equip it with required materials every year. I visited it in November.

MAHANAMA – Classroom for children with disabilities – Visit report

“

We left very early this morning (5 a.m.) to reach Anuradhapura and the two schools we were scheduled to visit. A 5- to 6-hour drive awaited us. Ganga, Lydia, Lala, Prasanna, and myself were present. Kasun was unable to join us, as he was occupied with his hospital management training.

We departed and traveled in the rain. We arrived around 11 a.m. At this time of year, the children are on school holidays, as all students are taking exams to move up to the next grade. However, the students, their mothers, the specialized teacher, the principal (the previous principal has been transferred to another school), as well as her deputy, welcomed us with their warm smiles.

There are only six students in the class. From what I understand, two students have joined the regular education cycle.

The teacher gave a speech and stated that thanks to this beautiful classroom, the children are happy to come and work. This class is said to be recognized as the best in the district. The children are very well integrated into the school, and there is no discrimination.

The classroom is in very good condition. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. It is a great success!
